A CNN correspondent at the center of a nefarious report that cost the network at least $ 5 million to defam a U.S. Navy veteran, leaves the struggle network.

CNN was next to Marquardt after the verdict.

Marquardt previously worked as a foreign correspondent for ABC News based in Moscow, Jerusalem, Beirut and London.

He has won multiple honors, including the Emmy and Edward R. Murrow Awards for a covert investigation on the minor sex traffic in the Philippines.
